Description

Refurbishment and fit-out works within 2 adjacent listed buildings, including structural, M&E and associated specialist works to create new consulting rooms and dedicated CT-scanning suites.

Challenge

A combination of a delayed listed building and other consents, combined with the requirement for unforeseen structural works put the project under both time and cost pressures from the outset. 

Solution

Academy project managers and quantity surveyors working closely with the client team and the appointed contractor, to re-sequence and re-phase the works to minimise the programme delays and associated cost pressures.

Result

The new facilities at Emblem and St Olaf's house went fully live for patients successfully at the end of December 2018.
