Description

Internal refurbishment and upgrade of Robertson Street Hostel for Thames Reach. The hostel comprises 42 bedrooms with en-suites, providing accommodation for the homeless.

Challenge

Keeping the final account figure as low as possible. Over 70 variations to the contract made this a difficult task, but one that was also achievable.
 

Solution

Using a change control tracker to monitor and record any variations submitted by the contractor and instructions issued by the Architect. By recording this information, Academy negotiated and agreed all costs of change with the contractor.

 

Result

The final account was agreed within 2 weeks of works being complete. Thames Reach were delighted with the services that Academy provided on the project.
